    About Blower Motor Resistors

A blower motor resistor is used to control the speed of the blower motor fan in your vehicle. Sparesbox offers a varied range of blower motor resistors from Tridon, one of the most widely trusted brands in the aftermarket automotive industry.

What do Blower Motor Resistors do?

A blower motor resistor is responsible for changing the fan speed from 1, 2 and 3 in your car’s air conditioning unit. Installed inside the HVAC system, the blower motor resistor is connected with a switch on your car’s centre console which can be operated by the driver and passengers.

Made of several resistors with different resistances, a blower motor resistor has circuits for each fan speed ranging from the lowest to the highest. In the highest speed rate, the resistor is avoided completely and the fan gets connected to the car’s battery, thus allowing it maximum current through the blower motor.

Why is it Important to Source Good Replacement Blower Motor Resistors?

Blower Motor Resistors are in operation everyday and being a mechanical component may wear out due to regular use. A non-functional blower motor resistor is the most common type of failure in a car’s HVAC unit. With a faulty blower motor resistor, the driver won’t be able to change the fan setting and it will operate usually at the highest speed.

If the fan works at some settings but doesn’t operate in others, that means the resistor is faulty and should be replaced in due time. A heater fan resistor can be easily replaced for a comfortable ride and smoother operation.

Our Range of Blower Motor Resistors
