Want To Own The Last Holden VE Commodore Ever Built?

Tue Nov 12 2019

The day this bold blue beauty rolled off the production line was the day a golden era ended. After 8 years and over 520,000 cars produced, the final VE Commodore was built in May 2013 and took the form of a chlorophyll blue Holden Commodore VE Series II SS V8 Sedan. And now – believe it or not – it could be yours.

Once voted the “most Australian Commodore” ever built by Holden, the Holden VE Commodore made a name for itself in Australia’s motoring history due to its excellent engineering and stylish look.

It was also the most successful race car model in Australian motorsport history, taking first place in 103 championship series races and three V8 Supercar titles, as well as winning the Bathurst 1000 four years in a row between 2009 and 2012.

The car in question will be auctioned off by Manheim (on behalf of Holden Australia) on Monday 18 November 2019 with a starting bid of $30,000.

Barely used at just 13 km on the odometer, this model features:

  • A 6.0L 90-degree OHV V8 engine
  • 6-speed automatic transmission
  • 260kW power and 517Nm torque
  • 4-wheel disc brakes
  • ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS)

The Commodore VE will be auctioned alongside other heritage Holden vehicles including the first ever Commodore VF Calais-V (rolled out in 2013), a 2017 VF II Commodore Redline Motorsport and a 2017 VF II Commodore Director, also barely used.

Also up for grabs is a 1995 VR Commodore Series II rally car which was the winner of the 1995 Mobil Round Australia Rally, a 1980 VC Commodore that once completed a trip around the entirety of Australia in 10 days, and an almost brand-new 2001 Monaro CV8 with less than 3800km under its belt.

If you want a piece of history for yourself, make sure you get in quick – bidding will stay open until noon on Friday 22 November 2019.
