October will be a good month to be a Ferrari fan in Australia, as the prancing horse plans to officially celebrate its 70th anniversary in Australia by bringing the largest collection of Ferraris in the Southern Hemisphere down under.
Choosing the annual Motorclasica event at Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Hall to display what will be the biggest Ferrari display ever put together in Australia, Ferrari will be featuring some of their rarest and most valuable cars ever.
They’ll also pay homage to their 70 years of styling, innovation and success in racing through their “Driven by Emotion” exhibit.
The cars featured will span the entire range of Ferrari’s illustrious history, from the 195 EL to the LaFerrari Aperta. If the latter name seems familiar to you, it’s the limited edition LaFerrari that recently sold for $12 million at auction.
Ferrari are also taking the festivities outside of the exhibition hall, with a group of classic Ferraris touring the city of Melbourne as part of the Tour Classica on the 12th October. The Ferrari Owners club of Australia will also be displaying their cars on the forecourt of the building in an all-out homage to everything Ferrari, a stop on their 45th National Rally.
“Ferrari is thrilled to be officially celebrating this major 70th anniversary milestone with our friends and fans in Melbourne,” said Herbert Appleroth, the CEO of Ferrari Australasia.
“The spectacular collection expertly curated by the team at Motorclassica beautifully illustrates the longstanding history and affinity Australia has with Ferrari.”
“We are excited to share this heritage with our Australian clients and fans and encourage everyone to join us for the celebrations,” he added.
Tickets for the Motorclasica, which will take place between October 13-15, are on sale now.
