Supply and demand, the backbone of a market economy, has once again driven Australia’s resale car market to extreme heights. As seen over the weekend when an elusive HSV GTSR W1 For Sale in Queensland crossed the auction block.
As reported last week, chassis number 36 of 300 HSV GTSR W1 crossed the auction block in Queensland over the weekend.
Despite predictions that the 474kW/815Nm supercharged 6.2-litre V8 HSV would command $300,000, the red HSV GTSR W1 fell just shy of this lofty prediction with a final sale price of $250,000.
The sale price represents an $80,000 increase on the $170,000 asking price set by Holden when the HSV GTSR W1 was available for sale earlier this year.
As of the time of publication, there are currently nice examples of the HSV GTSR W1 listed for sale in Australia with prices ranging from $259,999 to $300,000.
