RacingLine was founded in 1997 by the Volkswagen Group AG in Germany. Originally founded under the name of Volkswagen Motorsport UK, the company was dedicated to the British Rally Championship program.
The company was founded on one very simple principle: take an ordinary Volkswagen hatchback and turn it into a road, track, and rally-going weapon. The first car completed by the company was the Volkswagen Golf Mk3 kit car which utilised a high revving 2.0L 16-valve engine that produced 213kW of power at 8250 RPM. The two cars were driven by Alister McRae and Tapio Laukkanen and took victory at the 1997 British Rally Championship.
Since then, RacingLine has continued on their mission to build seriously fast and widely-capable Volkswagen performance cars that can be used on the street and on the track. In 2013 when the British GT Championship needed a safety car that would be able to stay ahead of the Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche GT3 cars under yellow flag conditions they used the new Volkswagen Golf Mk7 R fitted with every part from the RacingLine catalogue.
Why Choose RacingLine Performance?
Because RacingLine deals exclusively in Volkswagen performance parts.
Unlike other performance part manufacturers who design parts for a wide range of vehicle types and engine configurations, RacingLine deal explicitly in Volkswagen performance. As a result, RacingLine is at the forefront of research and development when it comes to creating pods that extract the best performance from your Volkswagen.
Forever at the forefront of Volkswagen performance innovation, the RacingLine Volkswagen performance part range is developed and tested in the world's toughest lab; Motorsport.
RacingLine spends thousands of hours scrutinising and improving a single component from each generation of the Volkswagen Golf to extract maximum performance and usability. From performance cold air intakes to lightweight wheels and everything in between, RacingLine want to help VW enthusiasts to extract maximum performance without detracting from the daily usability of their vehicles.
