Choosing the Right XFORCE Varex Muffler
How do Varex Mufflers Work?
Varex mufflers are developed by XFORCE to give you the best manipulation over the final performance of your exhaust system by controlling the amount of exhaust gases that passes through the muffler. The mufflers themselves house an internal butterfly valve which is connected to an internal motor. At the driver’s request, this valve can either be opened, which increases the air passing through, or closed, which does the opposite.
Varex mufflers are manipulated with the use of a simple control unit, which plugs into the muffler at one end and your 12V power socket at the other. The control unit links up with a simple remote key pad that switches the muffler open and closed whenever you need. A fully open muffler gives a race feel, while a fully closed muffler is more suitable for street conditions, and you can adjust the valve position pretty much everywhere in between.
What are the Benefits?
There are actually more than you think! By increasing or decreasing the gases flowing through your muffler, you’re directly influencing both the performance AND the sound of your exhaust system, which is vital to a lot of people that have spent a lot of money on a shiny new kit.
The ability to adjust this valve means you get performance and sound that’s directly tailored to the conditions around you. Closing the valve limits the air passing through, lowering power and the exhaust note for a more discreet tone from your exhaust system.
When the time calls for it however, the Varex Muffler can be opened up fully. This increased gas flow creates the loudest exhaust sound possible while also maximising power output.
How Do I Know a Varex Muffler Will Work with My Car?
The beauty of these mufflers is that they’re very nearly universal, provided you have a standard size exhaust system already fitted. Varex mufflers come in a huge range of shapes and sizes with 2.5 inch and 3 inch inlets to hook up with just about every exhaust system out there.
Varex mufflers also enjoy a number of shared traits that are universal across the entire range. They all hook up to the same control units so you don’t have to worry about fiddling with wiring, and they’re all made from 304-grade stainless steel for the ultimate in corrosion resistance and performance at extreme temperatures.
