Your vehicles valvetrain is responsible for opening and closing the intake and exhaust valves. For most new engines, this means an overhead cam assembly. For older engines, the engine uses push rods to move valve assemblies. Across both arrangements, the camshaft is rotated by a timing belt, timing chain and direct gear.
As you would expect, valvetrain components are subject to extreme loads and punishing operating conditions. In addition to mechanical forces that cause wear, increasing combustion pressure and temperatures, commonly associated with high performance and turbocharged vehicles, also place greater demands on the materials and heat dissipation of components on the combustion side of the engine.
Why are Valvetrain Components important?
Valve train components are responsible for controlling the gas exchange in your vehicles engine. This means that components in your valve train are subject to some of the harshest operating conditions of any of your engine components.
Keeping the components of the valve train in the correct position and operating as they would from the factory is essential for trouble-free operation and efficient gas exchange in your engine. Neglected, worn or malfunctioning engine valve train components can lead to costly engine repairs down the line.
Our Range of Valvetrain Components
